This is essentially a Web 2.0 website, which encourages the hometown city residents to play an active role in their community, to better their community through dialogue, to exchange ideas and opinions, and to disseminate useful information.
We promote the digitization of our hometown’s active citizen forums on pertinent, relevant, and imperative local issues, issues that have significant, direct impact on our daily lives and quality of life.
We will constantly attempt to be part of the engaged community, to be a promoter of the city and a moderator of community discussions and forums on issues deemed by city residents to be of importance and relevance to them. “Hyper-local” is our goal. We welcome and embrace the “so-lo-mo” communication trends in our modern society (social, local, mobile). Among our efforts, we push for local content, highlight local issues, report on local happenings, focus on local interests, celebrate local development, promote local businesses, applaud exemplary local residents, and spotlight local leaders and officials. We encourage engaged citizenry, provide a platform for and facilitate active citizen participation in social debate and enlightening dialogue of crucial issues. We encourage short, precise, point- and content-focused citizen discussions of issues, enabling citizens to read and participate in the dialogue via their PCs (laptops or desktops) or mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) with ease.
In the new, social media and heavy internet usage world, consumers and residents rightly have higher expectations of the businesses and leaders whom they support. Modern-day consumers and residents rightfully expect their businesses and leaders to engage more, and to engage more closely with us, to respond more quickly to our questions and concerns, to explain issues to us, to give laser-like attention to our cherished or crucial issues, to care about us, and most importantly, to lead.
Our aim is to maintain a clutter-free, easy-to-read, simple website that is, as much as possible, free of distractions, irrelevant material, and information overload. We are an ever-evolving site which grows along with the residents and the community, being shaped and molded by our hometown’s residents, readers, commenters and consumers on an on-going basis. We will constantly strive to learn from the residents and visitors to the website, the ultimate consumers we are serving.
